Cape May Brewing Company won another accolade taking a Silver Medal in the Wood/Barrel-Aged Sour Beer Category for Phantom Crew! Phantom Crew is a Flanders Style (sometimes called Flemish) Red Ale that was originally brewed in 2015 and then put into red wine barrels for 19 months to let the bacteria do their work!
The US Open Beer Championship is one of the largest of it’s kind, with more than 6300 beers representing 110 styles, from both professional and homebrewers giving it a true “Open” quality similar to The US Open Golf and Tennis Tourneys where a club pro can actually make it to the big stage. Cape May was the only New Jersey Brewery to win a medal and adds to an already highly accoladed year for the South Jersey brewery that just celebrated its 7th Anniversary!
