Guy Corrado of Eastern Homebrew in Northfield, NJ shows us how to make a yeast starter for home brewing. With a wealth of brewing knowledge, Guy has been a mentor to both beginners and professional brewers throughout the area.
What is a Yeast Starter?
A yeast starter is a small volume of wort used for the sole purpose of growing yeast cells. Making a yeast starter lets you build up the number of yeast cells you need for higher gravity beers from just one package of yeast, saving you a few bucks you can spend elsewhere.
